The key players in the Hungarian logistic profession prepare a comprehensive annual analysis of domestic logistics for the second time, which is forwarded to the appropriate governmental and official bodies. Compared to the first analysis, there are sub-areas for which there is progress in cooperation between the Logistics Profession and the Government, but most of the work is still behind.

Logistics is a strategic sector in Hungary, just like in more advanced parts of Europe and the world. The development of the competitiveness of an economy cannot be imagined without the development of logistics. The logistics sector generates 6.3% of Hungarian GDP (road, rail, water, air, pipeline transport, transportation, warehousing is the 5th largest national revenue generating sector) and more than 200,000 people work in this area (2018). Q2 data). The goal is to reach 10%.

At the same time, in the old EU member states, a sort of excuse for protecting their own logistics markets has begun, initially quietly, tactfully, and in the last few years more and more openly and openly. In contrast, the protection of the logistics market in Hungary is significantly below the EU average. The purpose of this material is to give concrete suggestions to increase the competitiveness of the sub-sector by presenting foreign examples.

The 2018 annual analysis is available here (in Hungarian).
