Introduction/ Activities:
The port of Baja, Szeremlei Street, is located in the south-western part of Baja in the industrial zone next to the Kamarás- Danube branch, right on the bank of the Danube branch. It is located 160 kilometers south of Budapest. It was built at the confluence of three large regions, the Danube Square, the Kiskunság sand ridge and the Upper Bácska loess ridge. The most important southern crossing is the Danube. The left tributary of the Danube is Sugovica (also known as Kamarás-Danube), on the east bank of which is the center of Baja, and on the west bank of the popular resort area, Petőfi- Island; the two are connected by a bridge. The Ferenc Canal starts at the southern end of Sugovica. The property was previously owned by MAHART, using the site to repair ships and barges. Its later owner, FOKA, also operated a ship repair plant on the property.
There is a 1,007 m2 hall building in the port area. In each of its ships, a crane makes it suitable for several industrial functions. The track of the running crane in the smaller ship also leads out over the paved outer surface behind the hall. On the north-western edge of the plot, at the assembly wall next to the Danube branch, stands a boom gantry crane with a load capacity of 6-12 tons. The falcon track has four winch systems.
