Hungarian Federation of Danube Ports and their transnational partners held a meeting in Vienna on Work Package 5 of project DAPhNE lasting 30 months from the 1st of January 2017 aiming the complex development of Danube ports.

In the framework of the meeting in Vienna on 6 September 2017, activities of Work Package 5 (WP5) were discussed. Objective of WP5 is to map innovative solutions and new business opportunities successfully adaptable in the operation of Danube ports and contributing to the ports’ development. Project partners attending in WP5 complete studies and analyses (benchmarks) on good practices available in the Danube-Rheine Region in the fields of industrial ecology, LNG transportation as a cargo, container terminal operations. WP participants analyse conditions of adaptability and complete a complex recommendation package. The Hungarian Federation of Danube Ports is responsible for completing a study on industrial ecology in Hungary and abroad and based on findings, making recommendations on innovative solutions and new market opportunities adaptable for Danube ports in their operations and contribute to their development.
