The DIONYSUS project consortium, with more than 80 participants, held its public online opening event on 8th October 2020. This officially marked the beginning of a 30-month international project. The Hungarian Federation of Danube Ports is a member of the consortium, which won a successful application and EU grants in the 3rd round of the “Danube Transnational Program (DTP)” call for proposals. The name of the project is “DIONYSUS – Integrating Danube Region into Smart & Sustainable Multi-modal & Intermodal Transport Chains” project.

The overall goal of the DIONYSUS project is to facilitate the integration of multimodal and intermodal freight and passenger transport systems in the Danube region. The project focuses on infrastructure management and planning to address key regional challenges, highlighting the necessary key measures for transport support and port infrastructure planning.

The partnership will conduct comprehensive, multi-layered analyses throughout the project. Based on these, they are needed to develop policies for the development of transport corridors based on concrete recommendations, development plans, business and operational models.

The aim of the event was to get acquainted with the objectives of the project, the planned tasks implemented by the partners and their results.

More information about the project will be available at www.interreg-danube.eu/dionysus during the implementation period and beyond.
