DBS Gateway Region – Regional and Transport Development in the Danube-Black Sea Region towards a Transnational Multiport Gateway Region
The project is a regional and Transport Development in the Danube-Black Sea (DBS) Region towards a Transnational Multiport Gateway Region, which will run for 30 months (January 2017 – June 2019).
Specific objectives of the project:
The project aims at creating a basis for cooperation between the relevant stakeholders in order to be able to work together towards the development of the DBS Gateway Region. Additionally, through increased attractiveness of the waterway transport system, it aims at providing the preconditions for the region to take over the envisaged role as DBS Gateway Region. In order to be able to further develop and actively promote the DBS Gateway Region beyond the lifetime of the project, the project aims at facilitating long-term cooperation of all key actors within an institutionalised Cooperation Platform.
It will be implemented by a transnational consortium of 10 co-funded organisations and 20 associated strategic partners (ASP) which will cover all the countries along the Danube. Hungarian Federation of Danube Ports (HFIP) is involved as an ASP in the project. The project has a total budget of 2.178.449,3 Euro, out of which ERDF contribution amounts 1.652.352,65 Euro and IPA contribution amounts 199.329,25 Euro.
The innovative aim of the partnership is to create a shadow over all parties involved. It is the project partners’ responsibility to involve ASPs from the region, collect feedback from them, and report to the project’s central working group.
